Lived in Augusta and Harlem, Ga in the late 70's. Saw EQT three times at least. Still have all the vinyl plus a few other goodies like EQT limited Edition release-Can't Keep a Good Band Down. Also have the 10" Six Pax label EP release Eric Quincy Tate-EQT (same as the album but different material) I burned myself a copy of EQT lp GRC label pressing. Not the original lp on Contillion. I still remember my wife drinking to much and having to take her home early a few nights from EQT shows. We just celebrated 38 years yesterday. What fun times. Thanks to one of the best Southern Bands of the day. Cheers, Vernon

Good times, Great memories...I was a regular at the Whipping Post from 1977 - 1982 and I was there at all your shows. I regret not buying your live album when I had the chance, but I recorded a friend's on a cassette and it's still a favorite. Your music will live in the hearts of those who were there and experienced the moment. EQT is a proud representative of the Georgia Boogie Blues from the '70s. Thanks for the music and the memories!

Thanks!! to all the members of EQT now, then and forever....... Thanks for all the great times in smoky little joints and big venues. In a time with an exceptionally high bar of musicianship y'all met and exceeded every challenge. I remember a winter club date - 12th Gate - when the heat was out and everyone's frosty breath mixed with the smoke and created a haze about five feet high..........the room might have been cold but the music was HOT and the band was, as always, warm and inviting. And we were all together for a time..... I am grateful to have lived in the time when EQT flourished. Thank you.

'Bear' was one of the best people I've ever met. He was my next door neighbor for many years, & my wife and I considered him a good friend. Those were some of the best times of my life, and thanks to EQT, those times had a great soundtrack. I was heartbroken when I heard Bear and Donny had passed, but then I thought 'what a band waiting for me when I get there. All those guys were the best!.

Thanks for all the "Good Times" that I can remember and the ones I can't at the Whipping Post in Augusta. I didn't know until recently that Bear had passed away. In 2004 or 5, at the Iron Horse Saloon-biketoberfest, I was talking to J.B. Walker and who walks up, Bear. It was like Old Home Week.Bear,J.B., and David Allan Coe and me in 10 ft. Of each other. Thanks for maintaining this site and keeping the memories alive.

I wore out Drinking Man's Friend, bought another copy and had it stolen. Finally in the mid 80s I found a copy in California, bought it and had it shipped back "home" to Ga. What are the chances of finding it on CD? I already found Vintage Vinyl and EQT.

Discovered you when I was at Clemson University, I went to Atlanta to meet Buddy B. who was working with A. R.S. and when I entered Buddy's Home with Joe Michaels a Concert Promoter , Buddy was listening to this band called Eric Quincy Tate and said " come in and sit down and listen to this band EQT". I tracked down three albums and introduced you to a ton of people in SC. ARE YOUR LPs AVAILABLE ON CD?

I never missed a night at the Whipping Post EQT was rocking the house. The crowds were so packed that no one could fall down and the music was so memorable ... it never gets old.
