'Bear' was one of the best people I've ever met. He was my next door neighbor for many years, & my wife and I considered him a good friend. Those were some of the best times of my life, and thanks to EQT, those times had a great soundtrack. I was heartbroken when I heard Bear and Donny had passed, but then I thought 'what a band waiting for me when I get there. All those guys were the best!.

Thanks for all the "Good Times" that I can remember and the ones I can't at the Whipping Post in Augusta. I didn't know until recently that Bear had passed away. In 2004 or 5, at the Iron Horse Saloon-biketoberfest, I was talking to J.B. Walker and who walks up, Bear. It was like Old Home Week.Bear,J.B., and David Allan Coe and me in 10 ft. Of each other. Thanks for maintaining this site and keeping the memories alive.

I wore out Drinking Man's Friend, bought another copy and had it stolen. Finally in the mid 80s I found a copy in California, bought it and had it shipped back "home" to Ga. What are the chances of finding it on CD? I already found Vintage Vinyl and EQT.

Discovered you when I was at Clemson University, I went to Atlanta to meet Buddy B. who was working with A. R.S. and when I entered Buddy's Home with Joe Michaels a Concert Promoter , Buddy was listening to this band called Eric Quincy Tate and said " come in and sit down and listen to this band EQT". I tracked down three albums and introduced you to a ton of people in SC. ARE YOUR LPs AVAILABLE ON CD?

I never missed a night at the Whipping Post EQT was rocking the house. The crowds were so packed that no one could fall down and the music was so memorable ... it never gets old.

David the page gets better with every visit. I hope to drive down to Augusta to visit next year. It's odd I haven't time to travel such a short distance, but live halfway around the world for part of the year, but life throws such oddities at you. Maybe you can plan a trip to Thailand, we have a guest cabin and live out in the country among the rice paddies. Funny I thought I'd spend my later years in South America not in Asia. I like the song you've playing on your page.

Soon to be released on Bluestorm Records by Roger "Hurricane" Wilson, the digital single of Food, Phone, Gas, & Lodging, originally written and recorded by the legendary Eric Quincy Tate Group from Atlanta. 2nd band to be signed to Capricorn Records after the Allman Bros. Band. Heard and followed them from age 16. They played my senior prom with Wet Willie in 1972, and I followed them musically until the end and beyond. http://snd.sc/109z79S

I have the first three LPs. Drinking Man's Friend is one of the greatest recordings of all time, for me.

Oliver Wood w/ TTB did a wonderful rendition of "Have You No Shame?" at the Beacon this year. Donnie Mac (the master of the chicken coop) would have been proud!
