I have thought about you guys so many times over the past so many years. I lived in Atlanta years ago. Watched you open for the Allman brothers at Atlanta Municipal Auditorium one night and Wet Willie the next night. Some of my best memories. Thank you so much. Donâ??t know why I waited to look you up in the internet but I am so glad I did. It freakin made my day. Still got the Workin Man Blues album. Tonight I was walkin around the house goin: I got to find me a whiskey woman and something just hit me and said: look em upâ?¦â?¦â?¦. Damn. I worked in Aiken, SC today. Freaked when I say you guys had an address in N. Augusta. I live in Columbia. I played in a Black gospel group in Atlanta back then and also a jam band with my main buds, Dixon and Tom. Now I have a 13 year old son who is banging away big time on my old 68 SG. Gotta hear you guys soon. Thanks so much for so many year of great music. Bill Scott, Columbia, SC 803.477.2887

I also want to send tons of respect and love to Donnie. I had a crush on him when I was a girl. He was a stellar musician and so beloved my mother and father. I feel beyond blessed to have known the EQT family and if i cant get that PBR/EQT logo on a shirt..I'll raise HOLY DAMN HELL!!

Angel Harper said:   July 18, 2010 2:54 pm PST
I've known Bear since I was born. He was a dear friend of my father, Henry Harper. I have an enormous amount of memories of EQT concerts, get togethers and such. Bear used to sing me songs with his guitar when I was just a small girl. The last time I saw Bear was at my fathers funeral. He held my hand the entire funeral service. Just yesterday my brother and I were arguing over the lyrics to "cherry pie" and "food phone gas and lodging". Wayne I loved you dearly and you will always be inside me. Always, Angel

I just found this website. I am truly saddened by the loss of my friend Bear. We went to high school together. I was introduced to him by Henry Harper (one of the biggest, if not THE biggest fan of Bear and EQT). I was scared of Bear at first, he was not the typical high school "boy". But, I came to know him as a super musician and lovable teddy bear. We had so much fun at The Whippin Post, Rose's Cantina, etc with all of rest of us groupies....K.W., Rooster, Harry Harper, Little Henry, me and the rest of you know who you are. We love you and will miss you Bear and Donnie. May the music ROCK ON!

For a while I lived in a carpet warehouse that was an old corrugated quanset hut made of corrugated roofing and tar up on the hill over looking Ardan's on Ponce De Leon not far from the Sears Warehouse then I got a room at a house at 5th and Argonne. Hung out at Hip Inc. On 10th just off Peachtree. There is a touch of enough to reach out and grab it in my mind fueled by these pictures. Bongo, wow, I sold him my purple bicycle!Eric Quincy Tate at The Bowery on Peach Tree. And I was 20 and had to talk my way in! Din't drink back then but have developed an active right arm since. This is heady stuff!

I am trying to reconnect with someone from my childhood. From 1970 to 1974, we lived in the Atlanta townhomes called 'The Cliffs'. My best friend was Christopher. His mom's name was Sherry. We lived by the pool at the bottom of the huge hill, but I stayed with Christopher and Sherry as much as I stayed home. I don't remember their last name, but, I do remember that we shared a love for music from an early age. His dad was a musician who played with the Atlanta Rhythm Section and was friends with Greg and Duane Allman. We loved EQT, probably introduced by his dad or my mom... My mom and step-dad's names were Kathryn and Jerry. My name is Tiffany. We moved to Tampa, FL and lost touch. I'm just taking a chance this might ring a bell with someone... If this sounds even remotely familiar, please let me know. It would satisfy a life-long mystery for me. Thanks, and rock on EQT! Glad to find that you're still playing, and still sounding great! ~Tiffany P.

I came across the website today when I was doing some internet research on my father, Bruno. I really appreciate the memorium to mom, dad and The Whippin' Post. I was just a small child when EQT came to play down there. Somewhere I've still got my EQT t-shirt and the EQT album recorded in the club. Dad always spoke fondly of EQT and certainly knew that he had a packed house whenever EQT was playing. I've been sitting here all day listening to the music from the website; definitely brings back some memories of being in the club when the band was setting up and doing sound checks. I'm sorry for the losses that the band has endured the last few years. Thank you so much for bringing back some fond memories of a time long gone. If I ever come across any old photos or EQT items, I'll pass them along. Thanks, Clay Ward

Hey, David, just catching up after working ass off during Tex season or was that tax season? I remeber the night that Evelyn Bishop and Wet Willy showed up at the Whipping Post. The Hall bros did not miss a lick but what I remember the most was that Evlyn could not figure out where to even put a guitar lick in on "Texas" a song that he played in the studio original recording by I think it was Electric Flag. I bet you remember the same thing, right David? Rex

I really appreciate the time you have taken to read my message. You seem to know about the Whippin Post in Augusta, Ga. I have a few questions about December 1973 was wondering if you could help me locate the artists who performed there at that time. I would really be ever so grateful to get a response to my question. If you cannot help me , I thank you so much for your time. Best Regards, Wanda

In 1974, after a cold night of singing on the street w/ Charlie Sayles(blues harp), we would drop in on EQT. We both agreed, this is the best band in the world and we're the only ones that know it. Playing for tens of thousands now,I wish it was still 1974.
